About

An engineer who chose to build.

Neha Jakhar, Dubai-based founder and BITS Pilani alumni, speaking about building startups

I studied Computer Science at BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus, but my interests gradually expanded beyond writing code.

During university I became involved in entrepreneurship, innovation, student leadership, and startup communities. My time at the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Dubai (CIIED) exposed me to the people and problems behind early-stage businesses.

After graduating, I kept exploring entrepreneurship through my own ventures and professional work — business development, marketing, sales, partnerships, operations, and technology. Much of what I know came from having to figure things out while building.

That's included launching products, talking to customers, testing business models, learning how to sell, and facing the difficult realities of building a startup.

Today I'm focused on building in the AI era, and on how technology, distribution, and execution come together to create businesses that work.

I don't claim to have everything figured out. I'm interested in understanding how things work, asking better questions, and building things that solve real problems.

What I believe

Personal beliefs, not universal laws.

  1. 01Execution teaches you things that theory cannot.
  2. 02Customer conversations are more valuable than assumptions.
  3. 03Distribution matters as much as building.
  4. 04Strategy should guide action, not replace it.
  5. 05Founders need to understand sales, marketing, product, and operations — even if they eventually specialize.
  6. 06You don't need to have everything figured out before starting.
