AI search vs traditional SEO: what is actually changing?

By Neha Jakhar · 1 Nov 2026 · 1 min read

Traditional search gives people a list of pages to choose from. AI assistants increasingly give them a synthesised answer — sometimes naming a handful of businesses, sometimes just one.

That changes the question from 'do we rank?' to 'are we mentioned, and is what's said about us accurate?'

What stays the same

Clear, consistent, credible information still matters. If your website, profiles, and third-party mentions describe you differently, both search engines and AI systems have a harder time understanding you.

What I'm watching

Working on Prezlo, I spend a lot of time looking at how brands appear across AI answers. Nobody can promise a specific recommendation — but you can measure where you show up, find the gaps, and improve the information available about you.
